I have been eyeing a garden statue on Amazon as a gift for my friend. Last week or so it was $35. I decided today to just get it. The price is now $85! And you think pricing on the Q is crazy, this is absurd.

That's classic Amazon. As soon as you even look at an item on line, it catches their attention and they raise the price. I have better luck if I know exactly what I'm looking for and put it in my cart and check out immediately, before they get a chance to change the price!

Are you sure it wasn't a Deal of the Day when you first saw it? That thing is probably super heavy and would cost quite a bit to ship. Anyone who bought it last week really did get a deal.

take it out of the cart
and try again. happens all the time
if the prices goes up too much it's a sign that I did not need it

It's the same when you buy something and re-order - always more expensive.

Agree, classic amazon to do this, but if you continue to watch it , it may quickly return to the old price.

That just happened to me. I bought a couple sets of half gallon glass mason jars on June 23. I wanted one more set. Yesterday they cost about $3.00 more for the same exact thing.

Their pricing goes up and down all the time. Sometimes I'll put something on my wish list, go back in a few days and see the price has increased. I'll remove it, then look again later and the price has decreased. Since they purchase from all over the world, I'm guessing prices to them changes all the time based on availability and what's trending, so they have to pass along the costs to the consumers. They even show multiple vendors with multiple prices when I'm looking at an item.

No Deal of the Day. It's not super heavy either. Regardless, that price increase is ridiculous. Guess I should have bought it sooner, but who knew.

@Biftu I always have something in my cart or wish list. In fact, I probably have 30-40 items saved for later. Every time I log in to my Amazon cart there are price adjustments.
What I find interesting, why adjust an amount by .04 cents or sometimes less. It can't make that much of a difference in this day and age. Below is an item I have saved and they notified me today of the price difference.
