@Oznell I guess it is all in your viewpoint.  I see such sadness and coldness in the industrial scenes it is almost disturbing to me.  Helpless people trapped in the hard hard work of factories with a lifetime of it before them is what it makes me think of.

@just bee , and @Sooner ,  yep, when I first laid eyes on Sheeler, thought of wonderful Hopper.

 

@just bee ,  if you've ever run across Paul Strand, another Modernist, Sheeler's photography reminds me of him a bit.  Love this soulful 1916 photo of his--

And another painter I love, Charles Demuth, also reminds me of Sheeler:
