TV Commercials Promoting Gambling Apps

Have to laugh at these commercials I am seeing promoting the gambling apps and beneath them on the screen is "need help with gambling call project HOPE and provide a call line."

At least there aren't quite as many drug commercials.

Ive never seen one. They must be illegal in my state, although we have casino gambling and horse racing.

They just became legal here in NY. a week ago, and the number of ads are ridiculous. I know the state needs the revenue, but it seems like an easy way to get into financial trouble. 🤷‍♀️

Lots of ads in my area, especially during sports events. Ironically, some of the actors and athletes promoting the gaming apps have been known to have huge gambling debts, e.g. Ben Affleck.

I am pretty sure the the warnings are required by law on the commercials for gambling.

It's the same with tobacco products.

Not any different than what I see in lottery ads in my state or the drink responsibly warning on alcohol ads.

I was a part of the gambling world for many years. Like other things in my life it was/is an addiction.

Like you, I find this whole thing crazy. Seems like I remember gambling being illegal! Now, some is, some ain't.

Kinda similar to all the Pharmaceutical Ads you now see. As they play through the good parts, next come the But category. Might cause serious illness or death. And they censor???
