DH and I went to one of the gem show venues this weekend.  This venue consists of one main tent, which is at least the size of two soccer pitch (fields) housing perhaps 40- 50 vendors.  The outside perimeter there are at least 30 additional tents.  It took us two days to do this venue.  And there are at least 25 venues scattered throughout the city,

You will find everything from the sublime to the ridiculous and everything in between.  Lots and lots of loose stones, already polished, lots and lots of rough, and finished product.

The logisitics of putting on the show is incredible, especially when you consider what the vendors have to go through to prepare for the show.  Lots of international vendors, from Asia to Europe to South America.  The freight cost must be astronomical!

It is the time where one can find anything your heart desires, and things you didn't know your heart  wanted! Lol

It is impossible to do all the venues, so we just pick the ones we are interested in.  After awhile we just can't take in anymore.

A couple of pics, from two different vendors.

I have always wanted to see this, but I'm pretty sure I would pass out from the sensory overload!
