In response to Hopi post:  I don't see the difference between selling the TSV or crosses.

I wanted to stay away from this thread, but the more I read it, a couple of questions popped up. first, how and why did this become about what LR said? didn't the OP merely mention how she loved and never removed her bracelet because obviously it has special meaning for her? and second, how is selling inspirational or religious articles on tv, worse than selling them in the store? is it because it's talked about on tv? therefore it becomes wrong and "faith for profit?" I don't get it.

also, remember when Jennifer Hudson lost a ton on weight? she said all of a sudden she had so many haters. so yes, it goes both ways.

I totally agree with you. I tuned in at midnight for about 10 minutes and couldn't take the vendor for one more minute. Full of something for sure.

Someone upthread brought it up and then things turned but you are right. This thread was about the bracelet, not LR.

Would some be so tolerant if QVC was selling a Star of David pendant for hours on end?

Oh man, I turned it on for a couple minutes. The sales pitch is just so tacky. I've seen this vendor present the product before and it rubbed me the wrong way then. Especially her story about being unemployed and going to the site and coming up with the idea for these bracelets. I'm certainly not anti religious and I own sacramentals that I've had blessed by my priest. I don't have a problem with the bracelets themselves but the way they are selling them is just tacky tacky tacky.

I don't like that she's using the veneer of Catholicism at the same time she's violating Catholic teaching by all this talk about these being blessing bracelets and how these women are praying over them as they make them.

I watched about five minutes or less of this presentation at midnight. There is something about the vendor that reeks of too much enthuisiasm or sincerity to be legit.  I don't even know how to explain, but sometimes too much is just too much.  The things I saw didn't interest me, and I do like meaningful jewelry.

If feels like she is using all the lessons learned getting your MBA to sell a story. I actually think the bracelets are attractive although I think they are over priced and I refuse to give her money due to her sales pitch.

Yeah there is something very off putting about her but I can't quite put my finger on what is bothersome.

I remember seeing a presentation for the first time right before the holidays and she said the last time they had been on, everything had sold out and she didn't think she'd be back until after x-mas.  Then she went on about how a "miracle" happened and these women were able to make more of these bracelets so she was able to bring more to QVC.  That presentation was a real turn-off.
