Personally, if I was going to purchase, I would wait for QVC to present it as a TSV AND check BBB as well for their 20% discount along with FREE shipping.
I personally own the Shark Rocket which is cheaper & does a fabulous/excellent job. Does the same job as Dyson stick cordless.
May I ask what "BBB" is?

I have bought so many Dyson products, it's crazy. I really believe in the vacuums.
My late husband brought home a Dyson Animal vacuum right before he died (about 13 years ago). It still works great. I gave it to my daughter when I bought a new Dyson Animal.
Then I bought the Dyson vacuum that's gray colored and gave that to my my middle daughter but she wanted the Dyson ball canister so I gave the gray Dyson to my oldest daughter and bought the middle daughter the ball canister Dyson.
My youngest daughter (the one who had my old Dyson Animal moved and had all wooden floors so I bought her the Dyson cordless (she loves it).
Meanwhile I bought myself the Dyson cordless vacuum. The lady that vacuums for me prefers the Animal upright but sometimes uses the cordless.
My oldest daughter decided to get herself an Animal so she did. She gave her gray Dyson to a friend. She said she'll never own anything but a Dyson again. I feel the same way as does my middle daughter (who really works that vacuum). Ha!

@Gokat wrote:The only thing I would caution you about, @AKgirl2 , with the reasons you've given, is that the motor and dustcup are in the handle of both the Dyson and the Shark. If you're thinking they're truly "lightweight", I have the newest Rocket and there's 3 lbs.+ lbs. weight in the handle to take into consideration, Overhead you will feel it. Lower level there's no problem. It's too bad you're set on cordless as I couldn't recommend this latest rendition of the Rocket any more highly. I can't imagine anything else being any better.
I know you'll make the right choice for you, so good luck with that. The Q is very good with their vacuum TSV prices, so I would imagine the newer Dyson will be right around that $399 when offered as one. HTH's
@Gokat That's a good point. I thought I would be able to do blinds, etc., but it did bother me when I lifted it up. The Dyson looks even heavier? Maybe someone knows.

@Mz iMac ~ Just saw the Dyson V8 on Amazon for only
$799.95😳
too rich for my blood...even if Q offers it (probably 6 mos down road) as a TSV, it wouldnt be less than $599.95, which is still too pricey.

I have had a hoover steerable now for over 3 years and very happy with it. Right now I see it shown on a network for less than 90 bucks. Weighs 11# and comes with several attachments. Use mine from floor to ceiling and everything in between, Yes, it is cyclonic vac.

Hiya Mr double"7's"...thanks for recommend, but I truly like and enjoy using cordless vacs. Can't stand getting caught up in the dxxx cord!

I've had the Dyson stick vac since way before QVC ever sold it. Two things I don't like; short run time on one charge 15-20 min. and the fact you have to keep your finger on the trigger. I have arthritis in my hands and that is difficult to do. I also think it's very much over-priced; I didn't pay near $400 for mine at a discount vacuum warehouse. They were cheaper then too.

I hadn't seen any Dyson TSV presentations as I had no interest, but I just pulled it up out of curiosity. The Dyson's motor/dust cup looks as though it would be about the same as the Shark Rocket, and I know the Rocket's is 3 lbs. The Dyson has a much smaller dust bin (I wouldn't personally have anything to do with one that small. It would need constant clearing IMO.) The Dyson is quoted at 5 lbs....and the Shark 8 lbs. total. The Shark, of course, has the powered brush roll component added in. HTH's![]()
