TSA question on Handbag Contents

I've looked on line and can't find the info I am looking for. Regarding what can be carried in your handbag when going through security, can you take lipgloss, mascara, other make-up, small lotion or oil, eye drops, etc.?

I know and understand about the 1 quart size zip lock see through plastic bag containing only 3 oz or smaller items. But what about stuff in my purse?
