@781Florist wrote:I had "Creept Crawlers" too! Loved it. We had the usual board games and Hula hoops etc... but most of our fun was at our neighborhood playground where we played punch ball, made braided lanyards out of something called gimp..
made plaster of paris molds and painted them, people wove countless potholders and we had pet shows and talent contests.
The neighborhood kids would have rubber ball baseball games and endless games of kick the can and red rover.
Great times that I had nearly forgotten.
Thank you for this thread!
@781Florist Welcome!๐ฅฐ Your post reminded me of how much I LOVEDโค playing at the park on the merry-go-round and being one of riders who would get it started at a high rate of speed, and then jump on!๐

@Estellee Welcome!๐ฅฐ I smiled as I read your post because I was NOT a good Badminton player at ALL, despite giving it my all!๐ I never played outside of school, but ENJOYED watching others play!โค

@Roscoe the Rascal wrote:I was a doll freak and had all kinds. I liked jacks, hop scotch, games out door like bugs and spiders and tether ball, ride bikes.
Monopoly was a big board game in our house. Liked battleships, candy land, shoots and ladders too.
7 of us so we had all kinds of toys and games. Spent all summer outside playing with friends and doing all kinds of things. Never in the house. Came home for lunch and home before dark.
@Roscoe the Rascal Welcome!๐ฅฐ I too, LOVEDโค playing Monoploy, and HAD to be home before dark or I would be grounded for a month!๐ Needless to say, I was home by then the majority of the time!๐

I can imagine how thrilling it was to play Cowboys and Indians with REAL horses!
It's most likely a good part of the reason for my lower back pain. My brother and I would chase each other on horseback and pretend to shoot the other one. If we pretended to get shot, we'd fall off our horses. His would keep running and we'd have to double up on mine to find his horse. Mine would stop and walk over to me and nibble at me. Good times!

I'm guessing most of us have done things when we were younger, not caring or thinking about how it would affect us later in life.

Parchessi was a favorite, and also Mystery Date!
