I take nothing for granted, so I am grateful that I am safe and comfortable and have a loving family. I'm grateful for every organization that fights to protect our planet and animals. I am grateful that I had a loving mother and sister, my list is just too long. I lived in a Third World country for two years so I know how rough life can be.

America was built on the backs of young people willing to work hard. They show respect to others during this disruptive time. We don't see them on the news but, they are there quietly setting an example of what America represents. This year I am so thankful for the skill and compassion of the many medical professionals that have treated me and my mother.    Surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, recreational therapists (love those sessions playing fetch with the therapy dog).  Oh my, there are so many incredibly talented and giving people. 

And, not only the medical professionals, but the cooks and the rest of the hospital staff that go out of their way to make hospital stays more bearable.

I'm very thankful for my neighbors and my neighborhood. That may sound odd but we've had some really great neighborhood in 30+ years and our neighbors are the best. We're the "oldest" neighbors (only one family has lived here longer than us) and since you're kind of "stuck" with who's there, we've been very fortunate.

Only one "bad" family so far--their first words to us were "We're Persian!" and not a word since; and that's probably for the best. They aren't very friendly but everyone else is great. The people next door have 2 adorable Austrailin shepherds and it's so much fun to watch them chase each other and roll around. Good dogs! and good neighbors.
