TIps vs. gifts

We've seen a lot of discussions about this and I finally figured out what I think of as the difference. Gifts are for friends and relatives, tips are for service rendered. That's why I wouldn't get a gift for a hairdresser, mail carrier, etc., but would rather give them a tip. With people you pay, it's about the money. . . LOL!!
