I interpreted the anonymous elbow on the cover to represent the millions of women whose stories we haven't been told. They are either too scared to come forward, or no one cares to listen.
@JJsMom Yes. But in addition, if you look up this cover online, there is actually a video version of the cover. Time has interviewed and included tens upon tens of women (and at least two men) representing this cover. The print version only shows the five women. I saw the video version on Instagram and FB.

So tired.
So very, very tired.
ITA.
And I’m scared for next Tuesday in Alabama.
That could set everything back to the ‘50s again.
It's like this tsunami of cognitive dissonance.
OhMyGosh...this is good.
You need to trademark that phrase.
It is a construct of social psychologist Leon Festinger in A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance.
So I didn't think it up myself?
******, and I didn't even read that.
Another money maker down the toity pot.
But you applied the concept in a very informed way.
So I can proceed with the t-shirts?

For the very reason some minimize it as "the issue du jour" is why I am so glad this is indeed the choice selected. It's still very necessary to bring this to the fore and address it seriously.
ITA. I think that label is very trivializing, and hope that was not the intent.

I think that the label, coupled with the dissing of TIME, shows a definitive intent to trivialize.

Excellent @QueenDanceALot exactly . . .
A couple on the short list could just be moved right on over.
Ahem . . . settle down my friend @QueenDanceALot . . .
I had to stop sitting on my paws for a bit, they were getting numb.
I think I’ve bitten right through my tongue 😛 and am now grinding down my teeth. Paws were on fire,
