Very concerned, my teen is flying to Atlanta on Friday afternoon.........by himself. Prayers, lol.

Is this his first time flying alone? I remember when I let mine fly to D/FW alone for the first time a couple of years ago, he was 14. I bet weather will be fine by then. Probably in the 60's. Hopefully they'll get most of the backlog from canceled and delayed flights out of the way by tomorrow evening and it will be smooth flying for your son!

On the news some were saying Atlanta was only predicted to get a dusting, that's why they didn't cancel schools or take precautions.

The governor said he didn't believe the NWS forecast, meaning science. His excuses were ridiculous.

KUDOS to the all of the teachers and staff who stayed with their students instead of going to their homes and their own families.

I'll send good thoughts but no "lol" his way.

Geez Lila, you should be ashamed, but I guess you'll have some excuse. Not that I care.

Qwack, thank you for the non-snarky response. He's flown before however he was 8 or 9 unattended. His flight is non-stop and he is flying with a friend from school who's mother is producing the upcoming Hunger Games movie. He's praying to meet Jennifer Lawrence soo badly that a bumpy flight is worth it, lol. When I purchased the tix, none of this crazy weather was an issue.

Sydney, here is hoping for a smooth flight and some nice, warm southern winter weather upon his arrival! Temps in the area nearby were in the 60's on Sunday before this hit and I bet they'll be that again very soon. Kinda like Texas weather, IF you don't like it, wait a little bit and it will change.

Again Lila, I will remind you what lol means. Laugh out loud, I realize that if it was from a poster you 'respect'...........you'd never go there. I appreciate the belated well-wishes, but I don't think you realize how you take pot-shots with people here. Again.........no big deal, just thought I would share.

Butting here to say that I didn't detect snark - just an intent to take the matter seriously.

Truth be told, my understanding is the weather will be agreeable for departure. Again, there's no way in Hades I could keep him from going since they are also slated to attend a Hawks game. My spouse however is losing his dang mind. So with my own hand-wringing, I gotta deal with his too.............
