The CA central Coast is being hit with a series of 3 storms. Last night was just crazy! One of my trees came down and there are branches everywhere.
The rivers are rising again and there is flooding in some areas.

Anchorage, AK here! Well, after 10 days, we're finally out of subzero temps, it's a balmy 7 degrees, although it feels like -1. Weather forecast shows snow to start at 5p and continue to Feb. 1st, with more to come after that I'm sure. The days have been partly cloudy to full out clouds and fog. Bears sure have the right idea when it comes to hibernation. I've been making lots of soups and stews, pulled pork for the weekend😋🍴 Grateful for cable TV and Netflix, good books and magazines especially when family and friends are busy or traveling. My son is traveling in Thaland and then onto Viet Nam which is wonderful, but I will be happy enjoying some home cooking and the travel channel for now. Stay well and be safe everyone!

Hi Noel
Here in Los Angeles we had rain. Real rain today. It's been a few years since we had rain like this. It's very welcome. The cold too.

Love Roses, on TWC they were talking about flooding rains and concerns for LA. I hope you and House Cat stay safe...House Cat said something about her students being so excited about the rain: I wonder if they still feel that way!

I was out today, and wished I hadn't been! A local road was closed so I had to shop in a different town. Our immediate access road was also half flooded. The skies opened as I was about to go into the market, and again when I got home. I was drenched. About 10 min ago it was downright scary raining. Hwy 1 anywhere much north of Cambria is in bad shape.

Typical Va weather (well, you saw it if you saw the Inaugration). I only live a few miles from DC.
I do wish I had more sun. My daughter live in Denver and she gets 300 days a year of sunshine. I'd love that.
I like cool weather so Florida (where daughter #2 live) is out of the question for me. Denver is a bit too cool, however, it does run warmer than most people think. She goes skiing every single weekend in the mountains. It is truly a place for people who love the outdoors, (i.e. skeet shooting, hiking, camping, skiing, ice skating, you name it.

Oh, I avoid that part of HW1 in bad weather. Too many mudslides.

There are so many slides and road crumbling right now that beyond San Simeon, forget it. I'm north of Monterey, south of Watsonville. Very floody! Wednesday we had 45 mph winds.

I think I need to get to our river tomorrow and take a look...it's 3 houses down the road from me, but have had a really busy end to this week!
