Sounds like something my husband would ask too as more of a joke. Good for her. Once when we had a party here my niece and her boyfriend came. He was African American. So we're all sitting around eatting dinner and husband comes out with " this is the first time I ever had a black guy in my house." I felt like crawling under a rock. He just nodded and smiled. What was he suppose to say, gee I honored. I layed into him after everyone left.
