once somebody hits one of his stock and has damages to their truck or whatever. Probably either insurance or the court will take care of it.
People ask me why I don't move and I said I've got it made. Nobody bothers me . Neighbors and their kids keep to theirselves. UPS boxes stay on the porch. I thank the almighty everyday and the fact that I can pay the taxes, upkeep and insurance on living here.
I'm territorial and don't want others around me who were raised in a barn

Like Columbo said long time ago "just one more thing"
City people respond different to situations then people who were more bought up in a rural atmosphere and come from a older generation.
City folks will scream and call the police if they have a mouse in the house
if they go out to eat and somebody left off mustard on their burger, etc.
Country folks will break out the traps for the mouse, kill the thing, throw it out for the birds to get and reset the trap. Country folks don't get up in arms over everyday things. That's why she was hysterical it was a situation she thought was a end of the world scenario. Just scared.
I was on the phone one day and a snake was looking at me thru the glass.
Told the person "have to call U back" went outside found me a hoe, found the snake, took it's head off and gave it another whack for good measure.
called the person back. End of horror.

You can see who is on the porch from the bathroom window. I saw a car on y lawn by the porch step. A woman and a girl about 9 or 10 stood on the porch.
I opened the window a crack and said in a not so nice voice, can I help you? The way she had pounded on the door I expected a choking kid in the car, a person having a heart attack.
Nope, she asked if I knew who would have the cows in the road. There was a bull in the road below us. Really? First time seeing a bull in the wild?
I said it was the guy next door and the animals get out all the time.
She said, oh, okay and left.
People.
If you live in an area where there are farm animals I would not consider this an unusal occurrence.....The woman considered it an urgent situation for both drivers on this road and also the animal! She probably POUNDED LOUDLY because most people these days dont answer their doors because of some dangerous incidents that have been in the news. The woman just wanted to make sure she found someone to take care of the situation. You were able to steer her (pardon the pun) to someone that could remedy the situation and that was accomplished.....
If this happens frequently put a note near your door---"If a bull is loose contact the neighbor next door."

@SharkE I can relate to that. And if someone is pounding on the door at my house, Mr. Remington often simply insists on accompanying me to the door while I ascertain what the heck is going on. He's just that way.

Think the gal handled it right.
Forewarned is forearmed. I got security system set up too. anybody tries the door while it's locked we all will know it and if I don't respond to the call I'll be getting "are you alright"? then the cops will know it.
if there is any cops left to respond that is. Glad I'll be dead before there will be no cops and it's Mad Max time out there. Wild West has returned.

@Sooner Your roommate's cousin, Mr. Glock lives in my house. We gave him his own special safe.

The only scary thing near me is my looney neighbor, otherwise I'm not afraid here.
I have no alarm system unless you count the 2 chicken **** cats I have. They run for the closet when someone steps on the porch. They are like furry doorbells.
I have never touched, held or shot a gun and I don't intend to start at 72. Even if I had a hand gun and a rifle they guy next door would have me out gunned. He subscribes to mercenary magazines and has an arsenal according to his brother who is sane.

@Lucky Dog I'm guessing she didn't want to take the time to walk up the driveway or else she thought the bull would run the football field + in length from down the road and chase her.
Who knows? I pretty much have given up trying to figure people out. It hurts my brain.
