I would think a teacher should know better and not have to be told.
So I guess deodorants are out too as are body sprays!!
And how about the fabric softener scent on your clothes??
I could go on and on....
Body odor is also a scent! LOL

It's a good thing I retired before everything was banned from the classroom. I use to put scented hand cream on between classes. Students frequently commented on how good it smelled and tried to guess the scent. Teenage girls wore perfume and some boys wore cologne. Those aromas were more pleasant than the stink from some bodies.
The markers and board cleaners were far stinkier than my hand cream.
Is there anything kids aren't allergic to or scents the public does not find offensive?

There are unscented deodorants, hand lotion, soap, and fabric softener. There is no reason to smell of cheap scent or body odor.
I can't believe anyone has managed to escape products whose scent is cloying or sickening.

I worked special needs/ed for years. Had to be fragrance free because of some students. That included laundry, shampoo, anything.
Yes, woman passes me with strong fragrance and it makes me sneeze.

Why didn't you call it body scent?

I kept hand lotion in my podium at all times. Chalk boards and white boards cause drying of skin. In addition, the markers for white boards have a really pungent odor, and the chalk dust permeates the air. I find it hard to believe a little lotion is the sin of all sins. And while we're at it, let's talk about the heavy duty use of perfume and cologne by both male and female students. My students would hit Nordstrom and get all the sample packets and vials they could with a variety of expensive scents. Then they would drench themselves in it. If students can tolerate that, then there is little to worry about with a little lotion. Let's see the principal try to outlaw what the students spray on themselves.

It goes too far. A little hand lotion should not matter and if it does then whoever it bothers needs to live in a bubble. Then too, a more generic hand cream probably wouldn't have been noted.
