Re: Suze Orman returning to QVC

She used to be a waitress? I wondered what got her into this field? The reviews on HSN were not good. She had a TS awhile back. I have watched her on PBS on occasion taking questions. I find people's  financial situations interesting.

I prefer Dave Ramsey when it comes to financial advice, but was so happy to hear Suze on the news yesterday warning govt workers who are currently missing a paycheck to not be tempted and take out payday loans....they are really rip-offs and will get these people into more financial trouble than they can deal with. Seems like Suze should be targeting a different demographic than QVC viewers...we have heard and seen everything she has to offer...she needs to take a stab at millenials...from what I read....they are in desperate need of a reality check in the area of handling their finances.

Re: Suze Orman returning to QVC

Agree - I won't be watching.  Back in her early days I watched her show occasionally and she gave good advice.  At some point she changed and then this woman who had a "can I afford it" segment on her show - began hawking her overpriced CDs/DVDs/trust-will kit!  Always found that funny.  Anyone can do this on their own - buy a fireproof/waterproof box and add your documents inside.  I had two original copies of that documentation prepared and my sister (executrix) has one and I have the other and both sets are in lockboxes.

Eventually I turned to multiple financial analysts and began only watching those who weren't as annoying!

She needs a new schtick.  One habit I did learn from her is the change saving thing.  Drives DH and my friends nuts.  They will poke around in their pockets and handbags and the floor of the car rather than break a bill and get change back.  Drives ME nuts.

Re: Suze Orman returning to QVC

She's telling furloughed Fed employees not to take out payday loans? They are not getting paid. How does that work?

She's offered nothing new in years. Some here bought her cd/create your own docs only to find out later they were not valid in all 50 states.

I dislike her I'm much smarter than you and you need me attitude.

I purchased one of her kits several years ago, and it was absolutely useless.  Very basic information that most of us can research on our own.  I don't need to pay 3 prices for storage containers to file my information either.  I can get those at the dollar store.  Big nothing.

I've said that for years.  I saw what she was selling and bought a Sentry fireproof/waterproof lockbox and put all my documents into that - and I spent much less than what she charges to do that.

Every State is different with different laws about probate.  Probate isn't the big boogie man it's made out to be.   I've been through it - just caused a little delay.

A previous kit Suze sold had discs to download forms, etc., directly from HER lawyers, etc.  The discs didn't work when people who bought her box - tried to use it.  There was a big stink at the time.  I see she now has a credit card size thing to do the job.

I did my father's probate and it was very easy in VA bc all but one of his accounts had POD or beneficiary instructions and we were able to sell his house before he died.  I remember at the time her saying that her lawyers had researched all the states so everyone was covered - I very much doubted that at the time.

Another resurrected thread from September!   As of 1/18/19 is she back at the Q or HSN or Evine?

Not necessarily resurrected - I just put her name in the search box and it shows her book as a recently aired item and her box is presently showing as available for sale for $81 - but it's true price being $108 - yeah right!  If her book was truly recently aired - sounds like Suze is back in some way, shape or form.

Re: Suze Orman returning to QVC

I cannot watch Orman and I cannot stand to listen to Dave Ramsey.  Lost respect for Ramsey when I found out his own father help bail him out when he filed bankruptcy - not exactly what he says to do for your own children!  He does not live in the real world of middle class hard working people IMO.  He is very arrogant as is Orman. I would rather get my financial advice elsewhere.
