That is so sad. I'm sure her family will be devastated.

I just wrote on the other thread about how devastated her hubby, 10 years her senior will be. He said in her Lifetime bio years ago that if she passed before him he will not be able to go on, and she left her burial instructions with Manilow since she knew Alan could not handle it on his own. She said she wanted Barry to make all the arrangements, she said this years ago on HSN.

I hadn't heard until I came here today.
I liked her jewelry and remember days on HSN.
I'm sorry to hear this news. I'm sorry also she didn't fight cancer at the onset medically, she went holistic measures. Cancer needs the big guns and as controversial that can be because it's harsh, cancer doesn't play to win .
She loved her family and I'm sure they're heartbroken.
My aunt went the "medical" route to treat her breast cancer. She passed the 7 year mark & celebrated. She died a year later.
Wholistic medicine is real & has helped many people,as has "traditional" treatments. The bottom line is everyone has to decide for themselves. An individual's medical choice is very personal.Suzanne lived a pretty good life for the past 23 years. There's no proof or guarantee traditional treatment would have led to a different outcome.
RIP Suzanne 💐. You were a funny, talented & fierce woman, who lived your truth, on your own terms.

In 2000 Suzanne had a lumpectomy and radiation, she passed on chemo. she said she had seen 3 docs, 2 said chemo and one said just radiation and that was the route she took. She also used a lot of holistic supplements.

Such a strong, tenacious, funny and life-affirming individual. She survived a sad, turbulent childhood, capitalized on her performing talent, and built an entrepreneurial empire. RIP Suzanne Somers.

The NY Times has a short obit this afternoon, mainly highlighting her many successful busnesses, and the fact that her salary was less than half what was paid to John Ritter.
Gifted comic actress--and quite an entrepreneur as well....RIP.

SO sad to hear this. She was an amazing and talented person. I will be forever grateful to her for spreading the word about HRT, BHRT, The Menopause Cocktail, her effortless work on exposing how doctors are uneducated in womens' health as well as her push for non-toxic skincare, makeup and items we use in our daily lives. She will be missed.

That's a shame, and a day before her birthday.
We still have Joyce DeWitt (Janet), Richard Kline (Larry), and Priscilla Barnes (Terri).
R.I.P.
