Everyone will blame Meghan even though the name is popular in the UK. I just keep hearing someone shouting " AR-CHIEEEE!"

I can guarantee you that no one is going to blame Meghan for that old timey awful name.  It's not a name a middle class American would ever think of.

I doubt they know who Archie Bunker is or ever saw All in the Family.  My kids are all in their 30's and have no idea.

But I can't help thinking of ol' Edith running from the kitchen saying 'Awwwchie'!Woman Very Happy

I'd bet Meghan does, being American and growing up in the TV biz, the reruns have been on forever here.

If posters are allowed to voice their opinion, I’ll go on record as disliking the name Archie.

All babies are cute and sweet....this one is no exception.  Wish them all well.

I guess I called it when I predicted it would be a unique name and also one not honoring anyone in the family.

Archie, that's different.  No words.

Looks like he resembles his mother's side of the family.  Cute baby.

I didn't think of Archie Bunker at all and I doubt the Brits will either.

I don't know why ... but I like it! Most of us look at it from an American perspective (very few little "Archies") and forget that popular names are not the same everywhere (how many little boys named Louis are there in the US?). Surprising, perhaps, but I think it suits him well.

All I can think of is the comic character Archie in the comic books

Yep, you called it, LOL!

Odd that they choose 'Archie' since that is Prince George's nickname.

The new baby will be known as "Master Archie", etc.

But at least at family gatherings, when someone calls out, 'Archie!', they'll both come running, LOL!
