• Oh my gosh, I posted that it would be a good idea to summarize the article rather than post a link since I don't click on links...thank goodness I didn't.

That's all I need to screw up my computer with a link on a shopping channel forum, would be pretty ticked if that happened.  Yes, thank you mods!

@suzyQ3  I have been on the forums since 2006-2007 (despite what the date says under my avatar of it being 2010...AND it shows one week after you in 2010...the dates QVC forums management gave us when they updated the forums...isn't that interesting)...so thanks for thinking I'm a greenhorn though...aren't you nice  

As for what the other thread was referring to, the SW is enduring an awful heatwave...so wasn't looking for any subliminal content of what it might 'infer' when I tried to open up the link other than the very high temps folks are dealing with...

So, there was absolutely no reason to make such a comment to me...

@Susan Louise, the "You must be new here" line is very common and has been around forever. In this case, it was a joking (notice my smiley) way of suggesting that it doesn't take much to turn any thread into a controversial one.

It not only was NOT a slam; but it was actually a form of agreement with you on how quickly something so innocuous as a weather thread can become a debate.

I am 57 and have never heard of the saying 'Are you new here' used for anything other than 'Are you new here'.

So I took you at your word...or should I say words to mean what you typed, not anything else, even with a smiley. I obviously did not find it humorous.

So I see this as insult #2...

I suggest you don't assume everyone thinks the same as you...or 'should know' this that or the other.
