Suspended on Instagram ? !

I signed up for an Instagram account about a month ago because one of our local online auctioneers is using Instagram to preview her auctions the day before. So I went to check out her next preview and got a notice "your account has been suspended as of April 3, 2023." I started to enter my email to lodge a protest, they asked for this, and then backed out. Perhaps this is a scam? I rarely use facebbook but I notice my account there still exists.

if you go directly to instagram you cannot sign into your account?

I used the link on the auctioneers page. Then they told me I was suspended and they would do a review if I entered my email. that's where I stopped, didn't enter it.

can you get to the auctioneers page by going directly through your own instagram account rather than clicking on their link?

Going in directly gets me the same message asking for the email to do the review. Light bulb moment - if they recognize me at that point they know my email. S----- them, I'm out. I've lived without them my entire life and I can continue to do so. I'll mention this to auctioneer the next time I see her in person. She is new at this and doesn't need my problems on top of her own. I can still bid, so that's what's important.

I think some people know what a scam is. It's possible that your Indtagram account was hacked and that person posted something inappropriate. You can get help from Instagram but you do have to sign into your account. Then go to settings, then privacy, then support. Then you tell then the problem. Like Facebook it takes a couple of days to get back to you.

No, I'd rather not mention her company name, I've heard of too many nuts on here, not our usual posters, of course. (or they wouldn't be here) I will tell you she is in Wisconsin. I'll go ahead and answer that email and see what happens.

Update

Oh, for crying out loud. Gave them email, typed in the code they gave me, then they want my mobile number to send another code. Done, my cell phone does not work at the house, so double S----- them. Many companies have double verification and realize not all people have a cell phone. You think Instagram would.

Same thing happened to me a while back. I went through the steps. The response was that it would take a few days for a decision but they unblocked me immediately. Then I got an email right away from Meta apologizing and saying it was their mistake.
