If the intent of the forum survey is to determine whether to continue it or close it I doubt there will be a heads up warning.
Last time they gave a warning all H broke loose and TPTB backed off. Even then it seemed to be more of a compromise than capitulation.
If they decide to close the boards I suspect when coming to the site one day we'll be greeted with a notice that the boards are closed.

I think it surely helps with sales. Plus, if another Forum were to be set up somewhere else, they'd have absolutely zero control over what's posted. I'd think they wouldn't like that at all.
I think the recent survey is a hint that they're revisiting the previous decision in 2021 to shut down the Community.
I believe, personal opinion only, that the more we push the envelope and don't abide by the Standards for Participation and the Community Guidelines and cause this to be a negative "look" for QVC and Qurate (and a "thorn in their side" using employee time to moderate) the closer we might come to a final, nonreversible shutdown.
The QVC Community actually was scheduled to close once before.
They offered a 1-month notice.
At the beginning of October 2021, this appeared at the top of the Community:
"QVC's Blogs and Forums page will be going away 11/2/2021
Connecting with our QVC community is everything to us—so we created a new destination for superfans (like you!) to keep the convo going & stay in the know on all things Q. Join our We #loveQVC Facebook group to find inspiration, get recommendations & interact with your fellow shopping fam, hosts, and guests. So much fun awaits & we hope to see you there!"
Immediately, a large number of protests, inquiries, and requests flooded the Community.
People also reported that they called QVC and sent email messages, and expressed their dismay and disappointment on QVC's other social media sites, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
QVC (obviously) reversed the decision.
However, starting on that date, 11/2/21, nearly all logins were blocked for a while.
They definitely intended to say "goodbye" to the forums.
The Community is a "canned" prepackaged product created and managed by a third party, and evidently that company had already put an automatic shutdown in the works and it took them a while to re-open it to everyone.
Seems like it was several weeks before we could resume posting... we could read, but not post.
At any rate, the initial decision was serious, although reconsidered and reversed.
One by one, businesses have closed this format of having a "chat site" associated with their corporation, choosing instead to ask participants to move to other platforms.
For many businesses it's considered a somewhat archaic format, often caustic, venomous atmosphere regardless of published terms of posting, not a positive reflection on the company, and not worth the cost of cumbersome maintenance and moderation.
In the same vein, you'll see some sites have closed their articles to comments.
For those reasons, and probably others, many of us feel the re-opened platform is only temporary.
I'd like to say that's not so, and although I haven't been well enough to post much in the past year or more, I would genuinely miss everyone❤️️

I don't think they need a survey to determine if they are going to close the boards or not. I think it's strictly related to sales.

the ugliness posted would certainly detour a person new to q who stumbled onto the boards from buying
some days its total ugliness, hard to miss
it seemed the survey was for new folks

Not if they're used to other social media sites.
This place is child's play compared to many.

I was thinking the same thing. Imagine the negative image that would come with a new forum, not monitored by them, would create!
