Lovely picture Ford, you are soooo pretty. I feel like I really know you now. I'm sad that you and your daughter's marriages didn't work out. Such pretty, strong, and intelligent ladies often seem to face challenges with men. Glad you enjoyed spending time with your family. Hope year 77 brings you much joy and happiness, you certainly deserve it.

I will say my first husband married me because he wanted good looking kids, lots and lots of them. He did not love me. The second one married me for one reason only, and was very demanding about it. After many years of casual dating, I met my last man who was my longest relationship. I think he was the only one who really loved me for me. Yes, my girls had the same problems. I am not trying to cry the blues over that, it was what it was. I feel I have lived a full life very independently, and my girls are the same way.

Thank you for your good wishes. Smile

Unexpected, really. I posted the photo because I kinda knew that everyone thought of me as a bent over little old lady in a wheelchair. I guess it was vain of me to want to dispel that image, but I am very thankful that this thread turned out to be a positive one. It could have gone another way and didn't. I am very grateful for that.Smile

Very pretty. My grandmother and great-grandmother had pretty, nice long hair like you, not quite as pretty of a shade as yours. You look at least 10 years younger than your age, heck maybe 15. Nice to "meet" you!

wow ford, you're one sexy lady. you look very artistic. i'm going to take a guess in saying you're either an artist or you've raised one. beautiful.

You would be right! Art has always been a huge part of my life. The years I was having children I did not work, and did portraits in oils for $45 each, believe it or not. My youngest daughter however, is the real artist in the family. She's a graphic artist by profession, but her artistic work far exceeds only that. And she can sing too, sang with several local bands for many years, but gave that up several years ago. She thinks she's "too old," none of us do, but she does. Working full time, plus freelancing, she does very well these days.

Who knew I would spend 25 years of my life working with computers and running networks?

As for "sexy," not really. I used to warn my dates that I was not what I looked like.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Hey Ford....I hope QVC sees this picture and uses you as one of their "mature" models...that would be a hoot.

Oh my gosh you are beautiful!!! You sure don't look like you are 77, and I love your hair and style.

Funny how we can picture someone and be so way off...I pictured you as very tall and skinny with a long thin nose and looking somewhat crotchety. But then I don't read the forums very often and I guess I don't know you at all.

Hmm, I used to be 5'4-1/2" . . . now I'm 5'2". I was never skinny either, and I have a rather pug nose. I admit I do get crotchety once in a while, but only when pushed. As for my weight, I was 123 lbs. in high school and am 125 lbs. now, but being shorter and my weight redistributed due to my shrinking spine, I am bigger in the middle than I ever was in my life. I was pretty much shaped as girls were in the '50s and '60s, more hourglass than skinny. My beloved sister was the one with the perfect figure, long, long legs and skinny but in a good way, not too thin as we see nowadays. She stayed skinny her whole life.
