Hi Everyone,
Well, last Tue, the 5th I had my surgery, and all went very very well. Same day I was up twice, and my P.T. too was exciting and worked out so well, that at 5 a.m. on second day the first dr. told me I could be sent home, had forgotten Medicare needs ypu to stay 3 days.
Since then (on 3rd day) I was at rehab/nursing place, where I clearly didn't belong, it was really a place for the old folks, many over 80. Won't go into the details, but had a hard time getting out of the arrangement, and was according to the dir. obliged to stay at least 3 days too, even though, I wanted out. Very depressing, although good to see people all were taken care of in an excellent way, but all i needed was P.T. for my knee replacement.
Since Monday afternoon been home, and found that my sister during this time had reorganized my apt. so it was super safe, and did some cleaning along the way, and am so very thankful. The flower departments of different places have also had work on my behalf and got several times, lovely roses, mixed colors, and from my nephew yellow and red roses in lovely mauve vase.
Had some major problems with nurse yesterday who I fired, didn't observe cleanliness, so will hear what today's comp. has to offer. Need P.T. and some more services. Am feeling very good, mosey around the apt. but can't be outside of course. Very interesting, my sister (med. background) and several close friends, can't figure out how the closing of the wound was done, most likely with special glue, as no stitches or anything are visible. The surgeon did a super job at Georgetown University Hospital, as Dir. of the Dept. - was there at 6 a.m. last week, and took about 1 1/2 hours. Am getting used to my own place again, and love the sun being out, although with the cold i certainly may not leave for a while. My exercises were checked and my "range" was close to 85 degr. so excellent, according to the experts.
Want to thank all of you for the kind support and recommendations helping me with the start of this ordeal. And, amazingly, my knee nor lower leg are really not much swollen.
My sister indeed got her house in Murietta, CA, and she and her husb. decided to spend Christmas with me and that has never happened before. So am truly over the moon...
Have an early happy weekend, everyone, and know, i would do it all over again (same surgeon) if I need to have this done again. Pain yes, but doable, and now I am going to do my exercises. AGAIN THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WARM WISHES AND UPBEAT TIPS.
M A G E N T A w/H U G S TO ALL.
