Today ask God for anything that is in line with His will for you.
Plead with Him and Tell Him your needs and keep praying.

Scripture for the day:

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." ~Philippians
4:13

Meditation for the day:

We must *be,* before we can *do.*. To accomplish much, we can be much. In
all cases, the doing must be the expression of the being.
It is foolish for us to think that we can accomplish much in personal
relationships without first preparing ourselves by being honest, pure,
unselfish and loving. We can choose the good and keep choosing it, before
we are ready to be used by God to accomplish things that are worthwhile.
When we are ready, then we will be given the opportunities. Quiet times of
communion with God are good preparation for creative action.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may constantly prepare myself for better things to come.
I pray that I may prepare myself well for the opportunities that will come.

Hello my friends! Still not the best but is better now, I took a nap in the
morning and one in the afternoon, so not in bed as much as the last two
days. Headache is gone, but absolutely no appetite yet, so always hungry
but what we have doesn't interest me in the least. He worked all day and I
told him to get me some puddings and cottage cheese and canned peaches,
that I could eat. For supper we'll have left over pork roast he made last
night, I may not eat it, but I'm making mashed potatoes, and that I'm sure I
will eat.
Take care everyone, and thanks for your prayers! Praying for you all too.

He Knows Your Name!

When you are having problems
And feel there's no help around.
First take one step forward,
To get to higher ground.

If you think that God doesn't hear you
Then that, is really a shame
Not only does He hear every prayer you say;
But He knows you, by your name.

It does not matter just where you are
When you call upon the Lord.
He will be listening with a well-tuned ear
And will understand every word.

Be ready to listen to what He says,
As He tells you what to do.
For that will be your instructions
Because the rest will be up to you.

You should thank Him for His kindness,
Because He was standing by.
And not as you thought; He had turned away
And would never, hear your cry.

Even though you have made so many mistakes.
He will not hold you to blame.
For now, you are fully forgiven.
And remember, He knows your name.

The Trial of Your Faith
Bible Reading: 1 Peter 1:1-9

Riding a train in the Pacific Northwest, a pastor's wife noticed a
fellow-passenger
with an apparently sick baby. Although the baby was of an age when it should
have
been holding up his little head on his own, the mother continually supported
it. The
two women began talking and the pastor's wife received this explanation:

"We've just come from the Mayo Clinic. Gary is severely retarded from brain
damage
at birth." Next followed some unforgettable words, "I'm so glad God gave him
to us.
We will love him. He'll never feel unwanted."

The light in the mother's face made her new friend glad for the fortunate
child. She
contrasted this mother to many mothers of "normal" children who fretted and
complained all the time.

God could trust this woman with a severe, lifelong trial. He could trust to
her care one
of His little ones: a child who would never bring home a report card she
could brag
about to her neighbors; who would never excel in any sports; who would
certainly tie
her to long hours of continuous care.

Not the trial, but the attitude we have toward it, proves whether we accept
it as from the
Lord. Recognize that He has, in even such trials, purpose rooted deep in
love.

That the trial of your faith... might be found unto praise and honor and
glory at the
appearing of Jesus Christ. (V. 7).

Not now, but in the coming years we'll read the meaning of our tears.

Where is God?

On April 12th 1961, Russia's Yuri Gagarin, became the first person to travel
in space. His spacecraft, Vostok 1, journeyed a single orbit of earth.
There were speculations in the media, that from orbit, Gagarin made the
comment, "I don't see any God up here," implying that there is no God in
heaven. However, there is no confirmation that such words were ever spoken,
but it prompted the question as to whether or not God exists. Of course, a
good response is "If you haven't seen God on earth, you will never see him
in heaven."

O Lord,
Your greatness is seen in all the world!
Your praise reaches up to the heavens;
When I look at the sky, which you have made,
at the moon and the stars, which you set in their places -
what is man ... that you care for him?
Yet you made him inferior only to yourself ...
You appointed him ruler over everything you made;
You place him over all creation;
O Lord,
Your greatness is seen in all the world!

(Psalms 8:1,3-6,9)

God Brought to a Destitute

I never forget what happened to our sisters in Rome, where we work with the
shut-ins.
They go to the poor people's houses. (We clean the house and give them a
bath, wash their clothes in the house and so on.)

The sisters found someone left in a terrible condition. They cleaned his
room and washed is clothes and gave him a good bath, but he never spoke.

After two days he told the sisters, "You have brought God into my life,
bring father also."

They went to the parish priest and brought the priest. That man who never
spoke, only that sentence he said, made his confession (he was Catholic).
He made his confession after sixty years, and next morning he died.

He had a beautiful death!
