They are wise who depend on God. Lord, Your perfect law revives my soul.
Keeping Your law makes me rich.

"No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a
bed, but puts it on a lamp stand, so that those who enter may see the
light." The glory of the Lord shines in the beauty of our character. It
is risen in us, even though we can realize it only in part. "Now you
see as in a glass darkly, but later we will see face to face." The
glory of the Lord is too dazzling for mortals to see fully on earth.
But some of God's glory is risen in us when we try to reflect that light
in our lives.

I pray that I may try to be a reflection of God's light. I pray that
some of its rays may shine in my life.
Hello my friends! Today was a whole week since the Wedding already! Times
flies! It went fast! Darla had artificial flowers at her Wedding this
time - and that was cheaper and even nice because she can keep her bouquet
and the two large vases that were on the altar were divided between us and
her in-laws. I put ours in a place of honor in the livingroom. White vase
that they spray painted and looks very nice with blue and white flowers, the
theme of the Wedding. Today's blessings - Lori stopped in today for a quick
lunch - with Ollie, she and Ollie went on a 3 hour trip to Watertown, SD, to
visit her cousins, coming back tomorrow. Lucas, their youngest, is her
God-child. She had me dog-sit while she went to her chiro, and so I started
a training session with him and Sam and it went well. They are better
together now and that's a good thing. Sam isn't so scared of him, and I
don't hear him growling so much at him anymore. I still wouldn't leave them
alone yet. It was fun having a doggie school session again! Wherever
there's treats involved, they'll do anything! I find it funny when Sammy
rolls over, and into Ollie! Dogs make me smile! Ollie was invited to come
there with Lori - they were at Darla's Wedding, and stayed overnight at
Lori's and met Ollie. Tomorrow night we need to go to Mass at the
Cathedral again, as he has to work all day. He just hates having to work on
Sundays and we can't get to our own Parish. He'll have a talk with his
manager about that next week when he gets back from his vacation - let's all
pray he gets his Sunday's off. Praying for you all for all your needs -
thanks for your prayers for us.
World's Greatest Chef
I love the taste of T-bone steak,
Delicious every bite,
But there's nothing like the Word of God,
For my spiritual appetite.
The Word of God has milk and meat,
And even ice cream and cake.
Take a slice of the Bread of Life,
And coffee to keep us awake.
Open your Bible and turn to Psalms,
For David's famous buffet.
You can drink all the wine of the Word you want,
And still feel fine the next day.
There's enough of the Word for everyone,
And no one has to cheat.
The Word of God is a smorgasbord,
So take all you are able to eat.
Let's have a little long suffering,
Job gives the recipe.
Patience is the main ingredient,
Self denial is the fee.
Wrap that up in temperance,
It may not make much sense,
Cover that with contentment,
Then add some joy for strength.
Let's have love for dessert,
Jesus made this dish,
Cream of joy and peace together,
Sift out all selfishness.
Add some deeds of righteousness,
Enough to make it sweet.
Humility is the frosting,
That makes the dish complete.
Or are you on a diet,
Cause the race seems hard to run.
For a weight losing menu,
Try Hebrews 12 and 1.
Are you suffering from malnutrition,
And don't know what to do?
Your spiritual growth seems hindered,
Try Peter 2 and 2.
If when every time you battle,
the enemy always wins,
Try some Holy Ghost Protein,
And spiritual vitamins.
God's Word can feed millions,
And still have plenty left.
Because the Word of God is Soul Food,
Sent from the World's Greatest CHEF.

Ways to BE !
1. Be courteous towards, and interested in, every person you meet. We
become more spiritual by treating every person as a somebody.
2. Reverse unworthy thoughts when they come. By refusing to look down
on any person, or even to be critical, we raise our own self-esteem.
3. Release the need to be "right." There are always times when we are
sure of our position. But truth needs no defenders, since in the long
run it is self-evident and self-proving.
4. Let others save face as often as possible. Even when you know others
are victims of sick pride, do not show them up by proving them wrong on
specific matters. If an error must be corrected, do it gently and
discreetly so others are not humiliated.
5. Always recognize a personal need for help: "Of myself, I can do
nothing, it's God who does the work."
6. Give credit freely, even at your own expense. We can never be
permanently harmed by this practice, because our own will always come
back to us.
7. Drop practices that are related to showing off or to obtaining
recognition for its own sake.
8. Make amends continuously, even when the other person is partly to
blame for the trouble. And be quick to apologize to children and
subordinates as we would to people of power and prominence.
IMAGINE HEARING THIS
Author Unknown
Imagine praying and hearing this:
"Thank you for calling My Father's House. Please select one of the
following four options:
* Press 1 for requests.
* Press 2 for thanksgiving.
* Press 3 for complaints.
* For all other inquiries, Press 4."
What if God used the familiar excuse:
"All of the angels are helping other customers right now. Please stay
on the line. Your call will be answered in the order it was received."
Can you imagine getting these kinds of responses as you call on God
in prayer?
* "If you'd like to speak with Gabriel, press 1.
* For Michael, press 2.
* For any other angel, press 3."
* "If you want King David to sing you a psalm, press 6."
"For reservations at My Father's House, simply press the letters J-O-
H-N on the keypad, followed by the number 3-1-6."
"For answers to nagging questions about dinosaurs, the age of the
earth and where Noah's ark is, wait until you get here!"
"Our computers show that you have called once today already. Please
hang up immediately."
"This office is closed for the weekend. Please call again Monday."
End of message.
Thank God, you can't call Him too often!!! You only need to ring once
and God hears you. Because of Jesus, you never get a busy signal. God
takes each call and knows each caller personally. When you call and
the Lord will
answer; you will cry for help and He will say: "Here am I."

LET US SEEK GOD'S GUIDANCE
By Helen Steiner Rice
As the threatening "Clouds of Chaos"
Gather in man's muddled mind;
While he searches for an answer
He alone can never find;
May God turn our vision skyward
So that we can see above ...
The gathering clouds of darkness,
And behold God's brightening love.
For today we're facing problems
Man alone can never solve,
For it takes much more than genius
To determine and resolve,
The conditions that confront us
All around on every side,
Daily mounting in intensity
Like the restless, rising tide.
But we'll find new Strength and Wisdom
If instead of proud resistance ...
We humbly call upon the Lord
And seek Divine Assistance;
For the spirit can unravel
Many tangled, knotted threads
That defy the skill and power
Of the world's best hands and heads.
For the plans of growth and progress
Of which we all have dreamed,
Cannot survive materially
Unless the spirit is redeemed.
So as another Year dawns,
Let us seek the Lord in prayer
And place our future hopes and plans
Securely in God's care.
Mother Teresa Said...
"Let the praise of people not destroy the peace
in our hearts and make us restless.
It has been given to us;
let us give it back to Him with great love.
They cannot give praise to all.
It has been given to One --
but it has been given to the lepers, the children,
dying patients -- all.
All that work is only a drop in the ocean,
but if we neglect to put in that drop, the ocean will be less."
And let's pray this for Bobbiesue:
Prayer to be Said by a Sick Person
(May be used for a novena)
O Merciful Infant Jesus! I know of Your miraculous deeds for the sick. How
many diseases You cured during Your blessed life on earth, and how many
venerators of Your Miraculous image ascribe to You their recovery and
deliverance from most painful and hopeless maladies. I know, indeed, that a
sinner like me has merited his sufferings and has no right to ask for
favors. But in view of the innumerable graces and the miraculous cures
granted even to the greatest sinners through the veneration of Your holy
infancy, particularly in the miraculous statue of Prague or in
representations of it, I exclaim with the greatest assurance: O most loving
Infant Jesus, full of pity, You can cure me if You will! Do not hesitate, O
Heavenly Physician, if it be Your will that I recover from this present
illness; extend Your most holy hands, and by Your power take away all pain
and infirmity, so that my recovery may be due, not to natural remedies, but
to You alone. If, however, You in Your inscrutable wisdom have determined
otherwise, then at least restore my soul to perfect health, and fill me with
heavenly consolation and blessing, that I may be like You, O Jesus, in my
sufferings, and may glorify Your providence until, at the death of my body,
You bestow on me eternal life. Amen.
