A couple of years back, I used to go out to the local Marriott Courtyard where they had a wonderful breakfast buffet (or you could order from the menu). It was not restricted to the hotel guests, nor was it ever very crowded. It was often frequented by some of our local county policemen. I often felt if the food was good enough for them, it was good enough for me! And you could make your own waffles. Not very expensive either, and they offered senior discounts. Not sure if they still offer that, but it was a great place to go for breakfast.

We never go to those chain restaurants (Denny's, Perkins, IHOP.) since NJ is full of diners. We used to go to Tops Diner in East Newark. My son likes the Malibu Diner in Hoboken. We recently went to the East Hanover Diner and also go to the Ritz in Livingston.

We used to go out. Now we just sleep in a little longer. Also, when we go out to eat breakfast - we really eat what we order. Now-a-days, it's just a trend with many folks to just pick at their food and leave most of it. They just want to hang out and socialize if they recognize someone else at the eatery. Memories of days gone by (sigh).

We like to go out for breakfast during the week, usually on a day we go grocery shopping. It's just a local diner, but love their omelets and freshly-squeezed orange juice. We are always seated immediately, but there is probably a wait on the weekends.

Oh, and we solve every single problem - local or worldwide before we are done.
This week there was a woman sitting alone at a table nearby and we asked her to join us, she did and said she cannot remember when she had so much fun. She was visiting from out of state and I am glad she will leave our little town with some good memories.
How sad, she was "visiting" from out of state and yet was out alone at breakfast on a Sunday. I wonder who she was visiting that would ignore her on a Sunday morning.

My husband and I go out for breakfast every Sunday morning. We have a favorite restaurant that serves a buffet breakfast on Sundays.

What is sad about being a visitor to a beautiful lake resort town over Labor Day weekend ?I didn't say she was visiting anybody who was ignoring her, did I? If you really care to know, she is hoping to be able to retire to the area and was being shown properties over the weekend. Hopefully we will meet up with her again in the future should she find something that fits her needs.
It must be tiring to be you, esme. Always looking for a gotcha moment in the most innocent of situations.
And to keep the record straight, we (and she) were eating lunch. As I said, it was after church services.

didn't you feel good? Mr S and I were waiting at an Italian restaurant for a table and a woman alone was waiting too. We invited her to join us. What a coincidence ! she is a member of our church and we knew many people in common. It was fun.

Talk about YUMMY!
That's my favorite, too!
