Wow 2 1/2 months off...

My sister is a K-8 teacher, and she gets maybe six weeks of that of real time off, if she's lucky. The rest of the time is classes she is required to take, and then they start having meetings, etc a month before school starts.

Bummer. I always go back a few weeks early to get my classroom set up and start lesson planning. But I don't HAVE to be there, so it's nice. We don't have meetings before schools starts --- the union won't have it.
