Re: Suggestions for giving away Cherished Teddies figures

I have about 20 Hummel pieces from my late mother that no one in the family is interested in. They were literally dust collectors at her house.  I checked the TM (trademarks) and dates on them and none of them are from Germany.  They've been packed away at my house for almost two years!!!

Animal rescue organizations are having on line auctions on Facebook to raise money.  They are always looking for donations.  Perhaps a local charity would be interested.

I want to thank ALL of you who commented! I love all the ideas and suggestions!  I live in a semi rural area, but if nothing pans out here I don't mind driving to Tucson to give to a hospital or Ronald McDonald House!

I so appreciate all your input! ❤️❤️❤️

@Helena: What does Germany have to do w/anything? You must be thinking of Hummels.

It's hard in the pandemic but you might try these ideas that I've used.

Every time you hand an envelope to someone, or give them a gift, it could have a Teddie on them!

Any gift, every gift, anything you give or hand over to someone has a Teddie on it.

A couple come over for lunch, there's a Teddie at each plate.

This way, it's not some stuff you want to get rid of, it's how you make things a little bit special.

Re: Suggestions for giving away Cherished Teddies figures

I made an error about Hummels. Sorry!

Sold mine several years ago, before the bottom fell out of the collectible market.

Only kept the ones given to me by my sons.

I have also seen Hummels at GW for a few dollars.

Great ideas, and I especially love your thinking behind them, @stuyvesant!

A children's hospital or nursing home would by my thought. But with the current disease situation, those places might not be able to accept them now.

If you don't want the CT why give them to friends. Better idea: just donate.

Just checked the few Hummels I saved. They do say W. Germany on the bottom.
