I see that storm reached critical mass in NYC, @ALRATIBA , and I sincerely hope you are OK.  Rising floodwaters can not be reckoned with.

I am in Central NJ.  We got an enormous amount of rain.  Roads are flooded all over.

Parts of the Garden State Parkway are flooded and there are bulldozers trying to push the water out of the way like the plows do in the winter with the snow.

The sunshine is a very welcome sight this morning!

Last year water seeped through into our kitchen with the remnants of a hurricane passing through. This year DH deliberately held off the mowing, thinking that the higher grass would be better able to keep that from happening again. It worked!

We had a horrific thunderstorm in the wee hours of Wednesday morning with heavy rain. This was followed throughout the day by intermittent periods of sunny skies, then heavy rains. We haven't seen any flooding in our neighborhood, but the stream near our pool was almost over its banks in the early evening. Although we were under a tornado watch, they never upgraded it to a warning.

I'm in the Philly suburbs and we had torrential rain for hours.  Constant alerts about tornadoes and flooding.  The flooding will continue into the weekend.  Public transit is down and schools are closed. I never saw so much rain in this area.

But, still not as bad as in the South.

Parts of RI got 7 inches of rain overnight and there is flooding and roads destroyed more in the coastal areas.  We got around 4 in the northern part of the state.  So far we're okay, no basement flooding or wind damage that we can tell in our immediate area. Though we are higher up here.  This was worse than Hurricane Henri that just came through a week and a half ago!

Be safe everyone!

We had a tornado reported about two miles south of me and a bad one about ten to fifteen miles away that damaged a lot of houses. It's kind of weird as we had no real wind here at all. Lots of rain, some thunder, and lightning, but very little in the way of wind. It's beautiful out now though. I'll be heading out to mow my grass once it dries off a bit more.

And I'm on the coast and we had not a drop of rain. We could really use some. Glad you are ok.
