I don't care for sub sandwiches because of the bread. When I do order from Subway, Jimmy John's or Publix I always make it a wrap.

Processed meat is a big contributor to colon cancer risk. It's no wonder that young people are getting it now more than ever. It's all about the processed foods.

My favorite unhealthy food has always been Blimpie & we are fortunate to have one in our town for many years. I only allow myself one or two a year but they never change & I get the Blimpie best sandwich.

I have to agree.  The Blimpie's near me was so good and I used go there probably once a week.  I was very disapppointed when they closed up for good.

Yes but people generally eat other things too such as dairy which has anti colon cancer properties.  I read that and couldn't believe it but the American Cancer Society confirmed this.

I periodically eat cheddar cheese, provolone and cottage cheese which was sited as beneficial for prevention of colon cancer despite some having allergies, etc.

Re: Subway Sandwich Shop

[ Edited ]

@SilleeMee so when I used to order subs from Blimpie's I would always ask them to hold the mayo, the oil and all dressing for that matter but would include an extra serving of avocado and then include provolone along with either roast beef or turkey and with lettuce and tomato.

@willowbark When Fred DeLuca, the founder of Subway, died, he took the whole franchise with him.  Very sad.

As for Jersey Mikes.  Whenever one of these Capital firms takes over, nothing in the business stays the same and the changes are rarely better for the consumer.

@willowbark - there is something about the bread & dressing that just can’t be imitated.

If I had to pick my poison of one of the natiion-wide sandwich restaurants, it would be Schlotzsky's.
