@Queen of shop   The royals share German ancestry through other royals.  Prince Philip had strong German ancestry through his mother.  He spoke fluent German and King Charles also speaks German, so it may be a nod to their heritage as well.

It's being reported only Queens and future Queens can wear that crown/tiara. Not really sure of the difference. Love this blue look. The hair up would have been my preference but still pretty.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

@Somertime. Thankyou for posting!

I watched the entrance procession and it was too far away to see too much detail. Then seated, Princess Katherine had a large tall red rose centerpiece in front of her.

I've never seen Catherine look less than gorgeous...whether in jeans & sneakers, or the beautiful gown pictured. She just has the confidence and figure to pull anything off!

That tiara is a stunner!

Prince Albert designed the tiara for Queen Victoria it had 2600 hundred diamonds and several large opals. Queen Victoria sent it back for alterations to put a space in the back of the tiara.  Prince Albert died before it was finished and she never wore it again and it went back into the vault.

The next Queen to sit on the throne was Queen Alexandria and she thought that opals brought bad luck so she had them removed and replaced with rubies.  When Queen Alexandria had the stones removed she had some of the arches removed to make the tiara smaller.   I was unable to find any photos of Queen Alexandria wearing the crown during her nine years on the throne.

It was the Queen Mum's favorite tiara and Queen Elizabeth let her mother keep instead of it coming back to the Crown when King George VI died and Queen Elizabeth came to the throne.  The Queen Mum wore it a great deal and was wearing it at Queen Elizabeth's coronation.

The only time Queen Elizabeth ever wore the tiara wore it was to a State dinner in Malta in 2005.  Now this is the first time it as been out of the vault.

The Princess of Wales wore in the Oriental Circlet Tiara for the German State Banquet at Windsor Castle ❤️‍🩹 . Prince Albert designed this magnificent Tiara that features lotus flowers within seventeen
