Student loan debts deducted from social security check

Just saw this on the news....students who walk away from their college student loans and don't repay them....their parents will have the amount owed deducted from their social security checks until it is paid off


Do you think this is fair or do you think the student who attend college and used the money should be held responsible for paying?
