@ECBG   Probably ants if you don't clean it up fast enough.  Take a picture and call it art.  Name it "The Ants Go Marching."

Re: Student ate $160,000 art piece

[ Edited ]

Just to add, this is the third in the series - the two previous duct taped bananas sold for about $120,000 and I think $150,000.  It may have been eaten after one of the sales, but not to worry the "art"was replaced and restored!

The showing of this "art" was so popular that it was moved early from the art gallery - crowds coming to see it were too large.  The publicity on that was "the banana splits"

lol.

I found that this "artist" was accused by another "artist" of copying his work.  Here's the evidence:

QVC should open an art gallery so all of us can display our masterpieces. Great ideas listed 🍌🍉🥝🍐🍎🍋🥑🍍

As far as the term "ART" for that piece  it is a relative term as with most of what is considered "ART".

This whole thing is an "ART" in the form of idiocy.

Re: Student ate $160,000 art piece

maybe it wasn't about the banana

maybe it is the DUCT tape

the sheen, the position, the stick factor

the color - oh my

so many shades of grey - mmm... is this connected to the movie 50 shades....

maybe the movie is the adaptation of the art

Re: Student ate $160,000 art piece

I know zip about art except it's in the eyes of the beholder, to understand it this one at $160,000??

Did see some painted art work, by a novice, that sold for around $700,000. To me it looked like a paint by numbers, but like I said above.

@teganslaw The artist doesn't have to try to make fools out of people who would pay $160 grand for a banana duct taped to a wall. That ship sailed a looong time ago!
