My son is a junior at WVU. He was on campus all morning taking finals. 😕. He is okay, but it’s so scary! I don’t know what the answers are for these people who want to do this. As a parent you send your kid to college and hope that they are in a safe environment!

It is torturous to fear for your child's safety in an academic environment. Once upon a time, all a parent agonized over was that the student do well academically and stay safe during travel time.

Your son is safe, and I am relieved to know that.

Truly, this madness must stop. We know the answer that will help some but refuse to go forward to enact any change. Shameful.

This is so terrifying. I have grandchildren in high school and in college. I never thought that I’d have to worry about their safety. What has happened to our country? Why are there so many lunatics who are free to threaten Americans in churches, synagogues, and schools? It is so disheartening to deal with the news of today.

I worry every day for the safety of my children and all children.

I keep thinking it's only a matter of time before I know someone personally that has been involved in a school shooting. I just hope and pray that all children are safe...

Well I have three bullet holes in the siding of my house. Two came from drive-by shootings and the other I think came from an altercation in the street near my house. So it's just not schools that are a concern for safety...it's everywhere.
