On Saturday, our mail delivery is earlier then the weekdays. Usually around 3 instead of 6:00 to 7:00pm delivery. This past Saturday was strange. I received a bunch of other people's mail. It was in order with a package (that was left on my porch). They were all odd numbered addresses. So I picked them up and put them in my neighbor's mail box and the others. A total of 3 houses after mine. They were only a couple of pieces of mail each, and mostly open ads plus one package. But I'm puzzled how it happened. It was as if the mailman sorted them and forgot about them. It's never happened before. I wonder if it was new person. Should I say anything to our local post office?

Yes, it should be reported to your local postmaster.

I would let it go. Perhaps the mailman did forget about it. It's their job, but mistakes happen,
If it happens again I would then report it.

I think I will too. I really think the carrier forgot about them. They were all sorted on the odd address side in order. Only one was a letter. The rest ad cards and that one soft package.

Sub standard substitute. Yes, report them. I have done it more than once. A mistake is excusable. This seems to be way more than just a mistake--someone who could care less. Somebody who will try deserves the job.

💌💌💌 Our mailman told us that they were using temps as fill ins, and weren't even requiring people to pass a civil service exams because they had so many unfilled positions.
Remember when people would give their eye teeth for a government job ?

@ManyMeows I bet it too. The machine sorts them in order in packs. When they finish on one side, they do the other. What happens more frequently is getting your next door neighbor's mail (mostly open cards) That gets slipped in at the end.

i get neighbors mail every week......not even the same street address!
i just take it all to a blue official mailbox and put it in there.
i dont want people to see me and think i am tampering with their mailbox in some way.

If I get the wrong mail, I usually just put it back in the mailbox for the letter carrier to deliver.....hopefully to the correct addressee!

We still have our mail delivered to our mailbox on our house. Frequently, we get other peoples mail. I think it is just a mistake and so I deliver it to the proper address.
I have done it for years. No one wants our route because they have to walk from house to house. So we are always getting "the new guy" delivering the mail. So I don't mind delivering the mail. Besides I might run into a neighbor along the walk.
