Our local three grocery stores are offering 15% off today since Pittsburgh had big, damaging storms Tuesday and left many without power.  (Some still haven't been restored).  It's a savings especially if you lost everything.  I was thankful my power was only out just under 7 hours.

I thought it was a nice community jesture.  I did shop early this am.  I'm guessing the stores will be jammed later.  Had my morning coffee early, and off I went.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

I live just outside of downtown Pittsburgh and my power was out 31 hours.  I plan to wait another day or two before I shop,  There are still a lot of outages in the surrounding areas.  I still have cable so that was out a little longer than the power so all I had was my phone.  Thank goodness for Halo!

@Katrinka23   My dads power came back Friday night -  72 hours!
My xfinity was out about 32 hours, but was happy my power came back after 7 hours.  They said some may go w/o power until possibly Tuesday!  Yikes!

@lynnie61  I heard about Giant Eagle.  Who else is offering discounts? I'm asking for my son's family who live outside of Pittsburgh.

@PA Mom-mom
I heard Kuhn's and Shop and Save.  I went to Shop and Save.  I know GE and SNS was today only.  I don't know if Kuhn's was today only.  Although power isn't fully restored for some.  Maybe they will offer it again.

@PA Mom-mom   You're welcome.  I checked online, Kuhn's was today only also.  Giant Eagle, I believe started it, and announced on Thursday.  I'm sure the other stores wanted the business too.

I really appreciate the heads-up. I relayed everything to my DIL who didn't know anything about it. They have 5 children, ages 6 to 17, so any savings is worth the effort. She and my son are kept very busy, and one grandchild is special needs, so I like to help from the other side of the state as best I can.
