DH customized my closet for me a few years ago, and I absolutely love it. The only way it could be more perfect is if it was bigger, lol! I have tons more hanging space, and better drawer/shelf storage.
My "someday" goal is to pare down my wardrobe enough so that it can all stay on the hangers, in the drawers year round--no "changing out" the closet for the seasons anymore.
@vermint That’s my goal, too. Almost there.

I’m very fortunate. We have a huge master closet. It’s the size of a room. A big feature for us when we bought our house.
I keep all my clothes in there year round. I will move the winter clothes to the front in a few weeks. That takes me literally about two minutes.

I don’t store anything. I live in a 4 season climate, but everything is stored in a standard closet, not walk-in, and a few dressers. I move the really summery items like shorts & white pants to the back of the rod. My sandals and summer shoes go to the back of the closet. I have separate drawers for winter sweaters, summer tees, etc.

This is a job I dread twice a year. I try to eliminate some things because I just have too many clothes, so I triage. Some get donated, some go to my daughter and of course, some are kept. I store most of them in a spare room closet. Shoes go into a plastic bin. If we ever move, a huge walk in closet will be at the top of my list!

@vermint That's my goal too! To pretty much have all season clothing nd have it not a big deal to change seasons.

@Kardi I have a big bag for the Salvation Army and threw some things away, and decided I can do more of that later. I also got some dividers I can put between hanging things to keep pieces where they should be! So now I'll be able to tell black pants from navy pants at a glance! ![]()

Can’t think of anything I want to do less than store or “switch out“ clothes. I guess I pretty much wear the same things all year. And in cooler weather, I wear cooler weather outerwear.

My summer wardrobe is 4 pair of shorts and 6 tank tops, they fit in the bottom drawer of my dresser. My 2 pair of sandals are moved from the top row of my shoe rack to the bottom once the snow flurries fall. I also do not have a winter wardrobe.
However, my teacher daughter has started her switch from summer to fall and winter clothing. NO ONE needs that many items of clothing! She could fill every single closet in this house with her clothes, and I just cannot see that as necessary. She stores her out of season clothing in space saver bags, in underbed storage totes.

I wear the same shirts all year round. I don't wear sweaters or long sleeve. I wear pants/leggings , and (shorts at home) during the winter. I am always in my flip flops at home. I don't get the snow (as much) like many of you do. No need to store my clothes.
