You know who you are.

Sitting at a stop sign, sometimes with kids in the back seat and here we

are at a stop sign and you can't wait to grab your phone, check messages and text away, yes with 2 hands.

All I got to say is, kill yourself but not me.

What happens is the light turns green, you probably have someone beeping at you from behind and seriously you were so engrossed with that phone you have no idea who's around you, who's in front of you and where you are.

Please leave the phone in your handbag until you get home for the sake of you, your kids and me.

Rude, stupid, dangerous and creating an environment for a potential accident, this person is a driver without concern for others or herself.  I hope she stops this situation before she harms someone. It is bad enough when driving alone but when children are in the car, it is beyond neglectful.

I have seen worse than that.  At least at the stop sign they are stopped.  But on the road texting is downright dangerous.  And I really doubt anyone will catch these people until an accident happens.  Many of the cars have dark windows.  I usually, however can spot them as they seem to slow down, drift over the line.

Georgia just made it against the law to text and drive...you can't even touch the phone while driving but I still see people like the ones you mentioned @Mistreatedbycs sitting at the stop signs and lights texting.  I have even seen people still driving while texting.  As of now the only penalty is a fine that increases with every offense but I don't see how the law is truly going to be enforced. People just don't care...and the sad part is lives are put in jeopardy when they disregard the law.

It's like an addiction - a very dangerous one.

My car was totalled 6 years ago because a teenager was texting and went through a red light, hit me, took off the front end of my minivan and spun me around into a utility pole,  bounced off of me and hit another car.  I was driving with my husband in the car.  We were injured but could get out of the van by ourselves.

I agree 100% with you.  If the phone is that important, pull over and turn off the car.

  Dh and I see this all the time on I-195 and I-295. We use both these roads to go to our son's house to babysit our granddaughter twice a week. It's exactly as you said. Going slow, drift over the line and sometimes dark windows. Terrible! I often wish I could stop them and tell them about a friend of our family whose daughter was killed while texting. She went off the side of a barricade down into a ditch. The car got caught on a tree. She was in a coma for a year with extensive injuries, never regained consciousness and eventually died. She was 22. Such a sad tragedy. Maybe more commercials should be made to educate/scare these people who text while driving. You know like the ones they make about smoking...scare the sh*t outta you!😱😲😢

@Mistreatedbycs

I don't even have my cell phone near me when driving. For me driving is a FULL TIME JOB on which 100% of my focus is on driving!

I believe it's an obsession with some folks. A few years ago, I was taking my elderly parents to the doctor in a bigger city and we would go by interstate. My dad would point out a lot of folks who were texting and driving. And some of those times it was very busy.

Here in my little town, I have noticed more and more getting behind people at a red light, and the light will turn red, and we do NOT go, we sit for a bit till they look up and decide to go. Yes, I know we have horns to honk, but we've also had a few road rage incidents and it makes me leery. You don't know who is crazy, who is on meth, or just what.

I can see my texts on my Navigation screen.

If it's something important, I pull over.
