I can relate to you so much, I get flare ups of diverticulosis often. I have to follow a very restricted diet to avoid it. Do you like white fish? I have baked haddock or cod about two times a week. Top it with a little Panko, butter and lemon juice and just bake or broil. It's bland but tastes good. I also like broccoli pureed. Boil fresh or frozen, then puree it into a soup with some chicken broth. My stomach can't digest it any other way. I avoid dairy all together, although I may top the broccoli soup with some grated cheese. I like white instant rice with a little orange ginger stir fry sauce to give it some flavor. Not allowed to eat brown rice. I also like and can tolerate Southland Frozen Butternut Squash. I doctor it up a little for my husband, but I eat it just plain with a dab of butter. I always cook a chicken roaster on Sundays and I can pick on it all week. The antibiotics do can do a number on my stomach when I have to take them. Same problem as you. Also hard boiled eggs, get sick if they are over easy. You need to keep up with your protein. I really hope you feel better soon.

For the diarrhea issue, you can take Florastar (Probiotic) the 250 mg strength this way...take a total daily of either 1500 mg or at least 1000 mg...2 with breakfast, 2 during lunch and 2 after dinner which is 1500 mg for one week. It definitely restores the imbalance...also stops c-diff dead in it's track if taken in time at the first signs of c-diff. Also stay away from greasy fatty foods while your tummy is sick, nothing worse. Even tho eggs can be a great comfort food, the fat in them can make your symptoms worse. When you feel a little nauseous but not too nauseous for your anti-nauseous pill, eat something high carb like a bagel. Drinking flattened Ginger ale or coke is good too. Ice pops are great.
Drinking nothing but Gatorade and eating plain white rice for a week helps as well, then add in chicken for a few days with a nice baked potato. (That's for very bad diarrhea, like the kind from C-diff)
Feel better.

For me, if my stomach doesn't feel right, I stick with a potato, either baked or mashed, with very little else on it, unless I think I can tolerate a little butter. The potato seems to absorb whatever is in my stomach that is bothering me, and suddenly I feel better.

Thank you for these added suggestions. It can sure be miserable! I am finding so far that a potato and bagels do well for me. I hate eating so many carbs, but what can you do?
Jerz-girl: My gastro. suggested Floristor, too! He said they are the best probiotic going! Thank you for your trip on this!!!
I am still not feeling great but find that I seem to be slowly improving. Thanks, friends, for all of your help!!!!
