Oh great, now we have a dictionary posting here. I an quite capable of knowing the definitions of words. Some people just can't help themselves.

Someone has to pay for the increased wages,
ETA - we are quite happy with the high interest rates on our CD's and saving account.
@scatcat - I renewed a cd this morning. 5.30%. After years of .01% I'm very happy. But I know those rates will start to fall.

@gidgetgh WOW! That is really a great rate. I renewed one yesterday but got 5% which I was very happy with for a 9 month term. Can I ask what bank you used?

Most patriots want to see the improvement. If you're interested in killing democracy, you cross your fingers for the US to fail.
I know what side I'm on.
Left or right I would think that most Americans want the best for the country, their communities and their families & friends.

@reiki604 - Georgia's Own Credit Union. And I just re-checked. It was actually 5.25%. 12 month term.

Yes, you would think. But obviously it's not so across the board. Pun intended ![]()

@Oznell Obviously, a number of folks agree with you, as do I. Positive economic news is always welcome, as are positive economic indicators. That said, until the good news is seen and felt by average Americans living their daily lives we, understandably, reserve judgment. Moreover, while numbers don't necessarily lie, they certainly can be spun in different ways, depending on the agenda being promoted. I think you're absolutely correct, prices, overall, will not retreat. Once anything reaches higher ground, odds are it will stay there, though there will be some exceptions.

The influence an agenda can hold over a person's behavior is a scary reality.

Of course I am happy about yesterday's news BUT I can't help to feel the loss of 3 years and what could of been. For me it feels like 1 step forward and 1 step back as far as my retirement stocks. I am not ready to hand out much praise for what was preventable in the first place. But yes it is good news. Now as far as daily expenses , which is another subject because many people don't have ANY money to invest in the stock market, inflation is devastating to the working poor. I can give credit where credit is due but way too early IMO. As far as opposing views and "how we can't just help ourselves " you knew exactly what was going to happen. Why the pretense?

You nailed this one. @Oznell It does not match up. Everything looks good in theory, but in practice not so much.
