Yes, I am a stock watcher and I think the only reason the Q's stock hit $1 is because of the Christmas season, sale prices and free shipping. We'll see what 2024 brings.

Why is it that the prices in one grocery store in my town are still ridiculously high, but I can go to a grocery store that's literally across the street from that store and the prices are reasonable? Same products and selection and service. Employees in store #1 not being paid higher wages, and I know that for a fact.
I know the answer. The first store is a ghost town because most people refuse to pay those prices and shop across the street. Still store #1 refuses to lower their prices. Greed

There's a sinking sense among many, that the inflation that has sent grocery prices soaring-- I can't shop weekly without continued sticker shock at paper goods, food, so many items that were reasonable just a few years ago-- will never fully retreat. There will be a new "normal". The happy talk from some in the media simply does not match what's here on the ground in a number of sectors, and it engenders mistrust.

Funny the things people mistrust. Math, science, statistics, economics, medicine, physics vs the shady things/people/ideas into which they put their unquestioning, unwavering faith.

Last time I filled up with gas the price was 2.89/gal. in Maryland.
Win/win all around.
@Mersha 336,000 was in September.
November came in at 199,000. The net gain is estimated to be lower at 160,000 due to one time gains such as striking manufacturing employees and striking members of the writer's guild returning to work.

Minimum wage by me has increased significantly with some stores (ie Target) paying more than minimum wage ($16/hour).
Someone has to pay for the increased wages,
ETA - we are quite happy with the high interest rates on our CD's and saving account.

I know lots of stock investment is Foreign investment. they have lots to loose should the market fail them. I don't trust the stats as all (even the science has been uncovered) as skued. i won't give in to the delusions tht all is well and good.

So many gullible folks with no clue as to what is really happening. They will believe any nonsense they come across that meets their agendas.

About 40% of US equities are foreign owned.
The balance is owned by American households either directly, through equity mutual funds or pension benefits.
