@Dusty1 wrote:@summergal1 Have you talked to anyone that has chosen not to get the vaccination about their reasons for not wanting to get it?
There is a lot of conflicting information about Covid, masks, vaccinations, etc...
I can see that you feel strongly about it & that is okay. But, it doesn't mean that yours is the only opinion & it doesn't mean that other people don't feel strongly about it, also.
I don't believe that anyone wants this to go on longer than it needs to.
I don't believe that anyone wants to endanger anyone.
I don't believe that anyone needs to be mean or hurtful to others to voice a concern.
Is there proof that the vaccination is safe? No.
Is there proof that the vaccination is effective & reliable? No.
Is it possible that it is save & effective? It's possible.
I think all of us are doing the best that we can each day & trying to do what we feel is right for ourselves & the world around us.
@Dusty1 Well said! I believe that most of us are doing the best that we can...we care about our families, friends and communities.
Most people are inherently good and want the best for society. We may not all agree on what that is.

Every physician I have spoken to has told me to get the vaccine. And they all got theirs.

THere are so many who don't need the check, such as retirees on fixed incomes and those lucky enough where their jobs were NOT affected by the pandemic. Not sure why people making over $75,000 or so need a check anyway.
@bargainsgirl,, spoken like someone that has no idea what it is like to live on a fixed income with prices for everyday necessities, like groceries for example, going up not by pennies but by quarters and half dollars.
My state is already talking about finding new revenue to off set loses due to so many being out of work and sales tax collections being down so much. Cities and counties are already discussing increased mil rates to make up for lost revenue.
But hey, what the heck, people on a fixed income don't have to worry about things like eating, keeping their homes, being able to drive because they have that same check coming in once a month and their fixed income magically goes farther than everyone else's money.
I've heard some news around me as well, about raising revenue for what was lost. First of all maybe now those who spend the money will made the connection between money in & money out. And 2nd since they were the ones who closed everything down, maybe it should come out of their pocket. They don't have enough skin in the game. This debacle of putting people out of jobs & losing their businesses has been a disaster.
@software, government entities do not have the same goals as does private business. They exist to fund all public needs. And they have plenty of skin in the gave by having to balance a myriad of such needs.
I fail to see how they should be blamed for lockdowns and restrictions during the one of the worst crises in our country's history. In fact, I blame the officials out there that didn't and maybe still don't take it seriously.

I do not see the relevance of this... I can not even get my husband a vaccination anywhere. More people want them than do not want them.

I think it's a terrible idea but I also think there are a lot of issues with these stimulus checks that I won't even get into.

@Boehm Collector I don't know how large your survey was with physicians, but I read that a lot of medical people are not getting the vaccination.

So you sent the stimulus money back to the government?

@Dusty1, I've read that repeatedly. I have a hunch, though, that most who refuse are not physicians.

I don't necessarily believe everything I read. There is a lot of misinformation out there. But I have discussed this with quite a few physicians.. some are Infectious disease specialists, and they all recommended that we get it. And what do you mean by medical people?? Unless they are physicians, I don't give what they say much weight.
