Let's face it, the first time went so smoothly we had to know if there was a way to screw this up they'd find it... Add me to the list still waiting for a check supposedly mailed on the 6th but whose first payment was direct deposited. Meanwhile, nothing changed, but for the aforementioned predictable muck up there was no reason not to direct deposit this one... Be forewarned, they're already saying that due to the many glitches, some folks will see their 'check' as a tax refund or a reduction in the amount of taxes due... This has been an epic fail...

praying your full of it because husband won't give me zilch, then.

If we have a 3rd one I'm not gonna watch it and all the hoopla that will surround it in getting it put over. Some are gone, but, some still in there that will put the kibosh on it.    @stevieb

@SharkE  Nope, not full of it... It's been in the news and I think on the IRS website under FAQ's... Some stimulus will take the form of tax rebates or tax credits. They've even apparently put a special line on the tax return form for it...  It appears, everybody supposedly mailed a check is being told the same date, January 6th... I'd been told that date probably isn't even accurate because IRS mass mails on Fridays and the 6th was a Wednesday... My letter carrier says she's seen only a handful of the stimulus checks out for delivery... Apparently, they're being sent by carrier pigeon... Face it, it's a royal screw up courtesy of Uncle Sam... If the shoe was on the other foot, they'd be threatening us, issuing deadlines and charging penalties and interest... Not sure how much six hundred bucks can stimulate my spending, but I'll be happy to take whatever I can get...

Ok, of course I'm glad to receive the stimulus, however I got the check this morning, and I don't understand why it wasn't direct deposited like the last one. Wouldn't it be easier ?  Did they ever explain why they do it this way ? I'm just curious.

same thing happened to us @QVCkitty1   first one direct deposit, this one mailed.  It took 11 days to get to us.

@Tinkrbl44

my mother got a card first time.  She got a check this time.

I didn't fool with the card.  Took it to the bank and gave it to the teller with a deposit slip.

Its because of the timeline they had to get the checks out. System crashed, so they went old school, by check.

The mail is so messed up.  When I did my taxes online they asked if I got my stimulus. I said no & they credited it to my refund.  I haven't submitted it yet in case I do get it.  If you get a card you have to use your ss# to use it so it can't be stolen.  If you say no they will check it.

@bells4me , I would summit my tax return and if you do receive the Stimulus Check, you can return it. No problem.
