We have a floor model wood cabinet  Zenith TV, circa 1974.    On it I have an authentic Tiffany lamp, which in and of itself is a conversation piece.  Folks are really surprised when we turn on the TV, with original tubes, yet.

Kitchen Aid professional stand mixer -5 qt from the early '80's that works like new.

In 1955 when I was seven years old my parents bought a 21" black and white GE tv that lasted until the mid '70's.

Re: Still going strong

My mustard colored kitchen stove is from 1972, an Americana model with the oven above the burners.  Two or three years ago, I had all the coil burners replaced and scrubbed it til it shone, using q-tips to clean in-between the ranks of little white rectangular buttons that control the burner switches.

I like the retro stove and it still works--and also keep it b/c I was told that I might have to rewire my whole house if I wanted a brand new electric stove. The oven can be unreliable and I have a backup, a Breville Smart oven.

My next oldest appliance is a clothes dryer from 1993.  I just had it repaired instead of replacing it.  The repair guy said it was one of the last really reliable Kenmore models and that it should be good for a few more years.  The heating element he replaced was only $40.
