Thank you so much Rosemary. I feel sad that she would have to go out of her way to be so hurtful. It's been hard for me to understand it. You have shed much light on the situation. I will move on knowing that this is her problem and not mine. God Bless

Your sister in law made an extremely rude comment and I would have been hurt and mortified also if I were you.

I would have a hard time being real friendly with her, but I would be civil and keep the peace for the sake of the family. With people like that, I don't try to argue or get revenge, I just tuck that event in the back of my mind and always remember what she's capable of.

To heck with her, she's an idiot. Don't let it ruin another day.

You stated exactly how I felt after the comment. I am doing exactly what you said. I will keep the peace and know just what she is made of. Life is too short to give her another second. She is the one with the problem. Thank you so much!

Unhappy, jealous people often go 'out of their way' to stir up trouble. That's their 'M.O.'. They wish so badly that they can be like you, (that's where jealousy sets in), but their genes, personality, minds, whatever, just don't permit it. It's virtually impossible. It's an illness that they cannot climb out of. Think of the vicious circle that they must be in. It's really a sad existence.

And just one more post (finally) from me........You continue to proudly wear that skirt! Love your skirt, and wear it often. Just to keep the control in your favor. Just say that you love your skirt and have been looking for similar skirts in different colors..........enough said. Have a beautiful week! Smile

I'm sure you looked great in your outfit. Does you SIL always make comments like that about your outfits? I'm sure you're DH wasn't taking sides, he's a guy and guy's don't care about this kind of stuff. I know my DH doesn't, most men let stuff just "roll off". Sometimes I wish I was more like a guy because I take it all in too and I would've been offened by her comment. At this point you just have to "kill her with kindness". Now, if you would've said something right away like "better than what you have on" it would've really shocked her but since you let it pass you have to "let it go" now because even if you said something to her now, she'd just get defensive and turn it around on you again. You can't win with those kind of people, either put them in their place right away or let it go. You just have to be civil to her, I wouldn't let it bother me. Like someone else said "is she the fashon police?".

She doesn't typically make comments about my clothing. I usually dress conservatively and there really wouldn't be anything to say. This time I did something out of the box by wearing a maxi skirt and she took full advantage of it. However, she has commented on the fact that I am short. Thank you for your comment! Your points of view are well taken.

It's fun to sometimes change our style! Smile Knowing myself, I'd be talking to my maxi skirt, blowing it kisses, just for spite!! (Just to prove my point, that I love that skirt!)...........
