Sterotactic and Ultra Sound Guided Biopsy

A friend of mine is having both of these done on her breasts to confirm that she is breast cancer free. I've heard that they are EXTREMELY painful. Has anyone here had one or know someone who has? She's really afraid of the pain. The doctor is supposed to numb you but its a local. She's had two doctors tell her that she doesn't have breast cancer but because she has a strong family history of it, suggested she should have the biopsy done for peace of mind and future mammograms.
