Stem Cells and Heart Disease

A newly discovered type of stem cell may be one of the major driving forces behind heart attacks and other killer vascular diseases, according to a new study. The finding may provide a brand new target for future heart disease treatments, the researchers said.

Interesting. That could explain why several heart surgeons have been saying recently that cholesterol doesn't seem to be the culprit we were all told it was since about half of those with massive heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels.
