There have been several very upsetting cases lately involving pets and stealing them.
The other day, a local woman advertised Yorkie puppies for sale. An appointment was made to show them, two men showed up at her house, beat the woman and stole the four puppies.
That same day, a young woman stopped to run into a Macy's store and left her small dog in the car. It seemed to be a Chihuahua, from her photos. She came back after a few minutes to find her car window smashed and her dog gone. It was heartbreaking to see her on the news, crying and offering her life savings of $5000, no questions asked, for the return of her best friend.
A week or so ago, a couple were having something done to their home, the contractor had been warned about their dogs and not leaving a door open, but he did, and the two dogs ran out. I believe they were terriers.
One was later found, alive, but beaten and shot twice with a pellet gun. The two men were also on TV, begging for help to find the second dog. Good news there, the second was found by a couple of boys that took him to their mother. She washed him up, fed him and checked various news sources until she found the story and reunited the dog with his family.
I am so appalled by these crimes.
