Re: Starbucks Price Increase

I absolutely love Starbucks coffee.  I drive past one everyday on my way to work.  I used to stop daily for just a regular coffee.  I don't like any of the specialty coffees, lattes, etc.  However, when they re-opened after mandatory shut down during the pandemic, it is nearly impossible to get through their drive-thru.  The line is around the building.  I'd have to leave for work 30+ minutes earlier to sit there and wait.

I started to buy a big box of k-cups from Sams Club and I just do my own Starbucks at work.  It saves me money and time.

And increase in wages.  They need to offset that somehow, and the consumer pays higher prices.

Re: Starbucks Price Increase

Just happened to see a Starbucks commercial whizzing by when I was FF commercials on the DVR. Didn't know they had an Instant Coffee.

Costs $$ an arm and a leg, but I am tempted!! Checked amazonsmile and they have a choice of 3 different grinds.

Since the coffee in the US Army was the strongest and the worst! Well, maybe the coffee in the machines at work was worse. It sat in the machines over the weekend and my Graveyard shift, we came in on Sunday nights. Coffee machine was a dime, but anyone that worked that shift knows!

So may splurge 1 time and check out the cheapest and weakest they got. Will follow up on this thread if I do.

Anyone here tried any of the Starbucks Instant?  I'm listening, and TIA.

@hckynutjohn I've tried it and it's really tasty for instant coffee!  Our Costco here in Northern CA sells it pretty reasonably priced for 3 boxes.  I took some to Ohio when I visited my dad last summer and now he is hooked on it.  I order it from Amazon and have it shipped to him.

I never go to SB.  Make mine at home when I feel the need for something other than just coffee. Usually I just want a good cup of coffee in the morning.

Re: Starbucks Price Increase

Our next door  neighbor is a Starbucks regional manager...he said the increase in our area will begin March 1, but even he doesn't know yet how much the prices will change. He said prices depend on location and type of store, such as kiosk, drive thru store, full menu store, etc. DH loves their Sumatra coffee but he buys the beans and brews it at home.

Thank you for your input. Do you know which "roast" you tried? I see they have Dark/Medium and Blonde Roast.

I mentioned in my other post that prefer a milder coffee as opposed to the more bitter. I drink my coffee straight black, just the coffee.

TIA

Re: Starbucks Price Increase

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson received 20.43 million dollars in salary in 2021. Up 39% from his salary of $14.63 million dollars in 2020. This is according to Starbuck reporting to Marketwatch. Price increases are not due to inflation, rather it's simple corporate greed.

So in a time when prices of everything i.e. product, supplies, wages, benefits etc.,  you want companies to just make less money for their shareholders?

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.
